Mohammed Morsi forced to defend new power in face of uprising in Tahrir Square
Supporters and opponents of President Mohammed Morsi clashed Friday in the worst violence since he took office, while he defended a decision to give himself near-absolute power to root out what he called "weevils eating away at the nation of Egypt."
I have been following this as closely as most. These new developments are something that would need to be watched closely and plays into conspiracy theorists hands. Government should never be able to remove all power from its people. This is just the right ingredient for civil unrest. I am truly worried that this will turn into something much bigger with Israel at the centre of these countries and ideologies. I can say that it is very encouraging to see that citizens are standing up to what they believe is wrong. We can only wait for the outcome and move forward from there.
